what we collect
Rough Ropes collects almost nothing. There are no accounts. We do not ask for your name or your email address. We do not use cookies, and we do not run ad trackers.
what stays in your browser
To remember that you confirmed you are 18 or older, the site saves one value, called rr_age_ok, in your browser's own storage. It is never sent to us. The site also keeps a short note in your browser for the length of one visit, so the logo animation plays only once. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings.
The role quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are held in memory while you take the quiz. They are not sent to us and they are not saved anywhere. Close the page and they are gone.
the click counter
When you click a link to Ream from Rough Ropes, we add one to a counter. The counter stores three things: the date, the page you clicked from, and the link id, plus the running total. It stores nothing about you. We do not store your IP address, your browser details, or any cookie in it.
cloudflare
Rough Ropes is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees standard connection data when you load a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and it may keep server logs. Read Cloudflare's privacy policy to learn more.
when you leave
Ream (reamstories.com) is a separate service that we do not own or run. When you follow a link to Ream or any other site, you leave Rough Ropes. That site has its own privacy policy, and it applies from then on. Read it before you sign up or share anything there.
age
This site is not for anyone under 18. By using this site, you confirm you are 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
your rights and how to reach us
We hold no account data about you, because there are no accounts. If you think we hold anything about you, you can ask to see it or ask us to delete it. We aim to follow the privacy laws that apply to us.
For any privacy question or request, email us at info@roughropes.com. We will reply within 30 days.
